What: San Jose seeks to develop a major extension to the Coyote Creek Trail system. The 3-mile project will occur in three phases, with construction starting this summer.
The project closes a large gap in the regional trail system, and links Downtown San Jose to the existing Coyote Creek Trail entrance at Tully Road. From this point, ride, walk or take your down along a continuous paved trail through San Jose, County Lands and Morgan Hill!
The trail will be built in three phases.
· Phase 1 – William Street to Story Road.
· Phase 2 – Story Road to Phelan Avenue.
· Phase 3 – Phelan Avenue to Tully Road.
Why you should join: Your advocacy plays an important role in San Jose trail development, and your support of the City Trail Network is critical. With your help, these projects have been planned over the past 15 years and recent funding now supports construction. We seek to re-engage with the community to share how the projects were designed for access to recreation and active transportation, with safety in mind. We also plan to highlight your hard work energizing and organizing the community and other stakeholders around these trails.
Organized by Councilmember Maya Esparza and City of San Jose
Questions: Nathaleen.Palomino@sanjoseca.gov or 408-535-4907
Presentation will discuss a Trail Safety Plan that will be pilot tested along this trail system and can support expansion of the plan to the entire Trail Network as resources permit.
